I can’t believe the holidays have once again come and gone. This time of year tends to fly by way to fast for my liking! I hope you all had a pleasant, relaxing and fun filled holiday season! Happy 2013!

For the last day (or so) of sunny, warm weather I thought it would be nice for a little short-on-the-bottom and sweater-on-top type of deal. I can feel the chill in the air and dare I say I’m ready for it??

Burgundy is the color of the moment…I get it! Yes, I love it like everyone else but it’s EVERYWHERE and funny because as I write this post – very randomly – the movie Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy is on in the background. For those of you who know funny movies, you know Ron ‘Burgundy’ is a classic character…I told you it was random!

I wiki’d Burgundy and this is what wiki said…
‘Burgundy is a red color associated with the Burgundy wine of the same name, which in turn is named after the Burgundy region of France. The color burgundy is similar to other shades of dark red such as maroon.’

I felt like I should give the other reds some time to shine and couldn’t help but to turn to my fire engine red pants. It may have had something to do with the fact that my burgundy cords were in the wash but still, I thought burgundy’s wild cousin should get some of the spotlight this fall. So to switch things up, here are a few alternatives to that ‘other’ deep, dark, rouge. I fell pretty hard for both of these Peter Som pants and these Trina Turk‘s!

I love cognac, caramel, light orangey brown or whatever you like to call this delicious color. I especially love it for boots, bags…Any leather goods really! So I was happy to have found these pleather cognac pants a while back at H&M. Cognac (to me!) is the perfect fall color – it makes me think of caramel apples and cinnamon. And since leather, pleather, patent, etc. are still going strong this fall I am happy to have recycled these pants from last year!

Gotta love the peplum. Since this tummy-hiding trend is not fading away and actually gaining speed, I figured I would add this cute and inexpensive ditty to my wardrobe. I didn’t want only my top half to have all the fun, so I paired my flared top with a pair of flared bottoms…
